Biography

Hello!
My name is Ariel and I am currently a senior at ASU's School of Sustainability. I am going to graduate in Spring with a BS in Sustainable Energy, Materials and Technology and a Minor in Women and Gender Studies. My upcoming graduation is both exciting and scary, however I wish for the best and trek on.

As a San Francisco native, my time at ASU has certainly opened my eyes. Thanks to the programs at ASU, I have had the opportunities to venture to Ghana, Australia and Fiji for study abroad experiences. In Australia and Fiji my classes focused mostly on water treatment and conservation. I was jealous how advanced Australian culture was when it came to decreasing water demand. For instance, it was against the law to not have a duel flush toilet unless you haven't bought a new toilet for many years. (A duel flush toilet is where you can choose how much water to use per flush. One button is for 'low flow' while the other more water demanding button is reserved only when needed -for solids). I believe that our fresh water supply should be considered as an important factor for our lives and therefore respected.

I am currently an intern at the Scottsdale Water Department and trying to figure how to improve the Master Planning methods by using scenario planning.
